Meet Dan
Dan Bihn is a systems engineer working across technical and organizational boundaries to communicate the exciting possibilities of a low-carbon energy future where no one is left behind. He consults, lectures, teaches, and produces engaging interactive eBooks. Dan is currently writing an eBook with the working title of An Inclusive Energy Future where the people and things that use electric power engage with the grid to minimize costs and environmental impacts while maximizing resilience and equity.
The first half of Dan’s 40-year career, he was a research and development engineer. He has 3 U.S. Patents and 2 Japanese patents, and holds a Master’s of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
He is currently a visiting scholar at Portland State University’s Hatfield School of Government, in the Initiative for Community Disaster Resilience where he is focusing on the nexus between sustainability and resilience.
